Those of you who got the latest J. Crew catalog probably fell in love with embroidered jewel earrings. But why spend hundred dollars when you can make a similar pair on your own cheaper and no less beautiful? Prepare colored felt, 2 head pins, 2 jump rings, assorted dimensional gem stickers, 2 flat post earring backs, glue gun and glue. Cut out two identical oval pieces of felt, place your gems on them and play around until you’re satisfied with the design (take a photo of it to remember all positions). With a glue stick each gem to felt and once dry, poke a hole for a jump ring. Feed a headpin through the setting holes in a separate gem piece, cut the excess length and curl the end into a loop. Attach a flat earring back to each with hot glue and connect the jump ring to the loop. Enjoy!
