Business casual is a unique term that combines two contrary things: business looks, which are usually conservative and strict, and casual, which is laid-back and relaxed.
While business casual is applicable to a wide variety of workplaces, it is often interpreted in varying degrees. There should be a delicate balance that must be reached to achieve the perfect business casual look. Depending on your work environment, you should be able judge what level of business casual you ought to be wearing based on your superior’s attire.
Pants And Jeans
As it’s office but a bit casual, you can allow wearing chic cropped pants and trousers. Don’t be afraid of patterns: checked, polka dot and striped pants or shirts are right what you need to make your look not so strict. Another idea to spruce up the look a little bit is to buy a bold bag – a red, mustard, burgundy or blue one. You can also wear a sweater with pants if it’s chilly but choose a neutral or a black one, not relaxed yet basic.
Skirts And Dresses
Midi skirts are the comfiest and the most suitable for work. Choose pencil, pleated, wrap or other skirts that you like. You can wear it with a lightweight sweater of the color you like and nude heels or bold flats – red or leopard ones. A proper dress with a comfy cardigan is another great idea that may be spruced up with a pair of bold heels or a bag.
