Embracing natural beauty and minimal styling are among major trends in hair today as we are all quite busy and nobody wants to spend lots of time in front of the mirror. Botticelli bob is a hairstyle that perfectly matches these trends: it doesn’t require much styling and it’s beautiful and natural.
What Is Botticelli Bob?
This is a haircut mostly created for those with natural waves and curls. It’s a bob below the chin but over the shoulders that features almost a triangular shape because of styling: flat top and waves going down. These are not messy but very accurate waves, ‘water waves’, which reference the shape of the waves and how they mimic water flow. This style is called after women in Botticelli’s paintings, they were often depicted with such hair. This is a dramatic look with much volume and waves.
If you want to add bangs here, I’d offer side bangs that can be easily pinned to the side. The hairstyle is mostly worn with central parting but if you want more volume, consider side parting, too.
This black messy bob features some volume and is a nice modern version of Botticelli bob.

How To Style A Botticelli Bob?
If you have natural waves or curls, it’s quite easy: simply spritz the ends with a texture spray and scrunch for the desired volume. You can also use a mousse and a diffuser to create a look with movement. One more way is to comb through the hair from roots to tips before and after you have applied a curling/moisturising cream or texture mist. Then, scrunch the hair into the desired look and either allow the hair to air dry naturally or use a diffuser for maximum volume.
If you have straight hair, use a hair waver, a small barrel curling iron, or a heated styling iron with a thinner plate to help achieve those s-shaped waves. Apply a texture spray on the roots and a mousse through the mid-ends and ends, scalp plait their hair and go to bed with practically dry hair, for natural and cool texture.
